I’ve noticed a striking difference between my three social media platforms. Each one seems to deliver a different result, and none consistently provides everything a content creator hopes for.

πŸ“Š My Social Media Comparison

TikTok β€” Views and Likes, but Few Followers

  • Views: High
  • Likes: High
  • New followers: Low

People watch my videos and often like them, but relatively few decide to follow my channel.

X β€” Followers, but Few Likes

  • New followers: High
  • Likes: Low

My account attracts new followers, but their interest rarely translates into likes on my posts.

YouTube β€” Views, but Almost No Engagement

  • Views: Some
  • Likes: Almost none
  • New subscribers: None

My videos receive some views, but I don’t seem to gain new subscribers or likes.

Which Platform Is Actually Working Best?

PlatformWhat I GetWhat I’m Missing
TikTokViews and likesFollowers
XFollowersLikes
YouTubeViewsLikes and subscribers

The contrast is fascinating: TikTok gives me engagement without many followers, X gives me followers without much engagement, and YouTube gives me views without either.

As an independent musician, dancer and content creator, I keep publishing and experimenting, but it raises an important question: are these platforms helping creators build a genuine audience, or simply generating numbers that don’t necessarily translate into lasting support?

What’s your experience? Which platform brings you the best balance of views, likes and followers or subscribers?
